What a fantastic day! We were able once again to visit Sugar Maples under the direction of the AMAZING RitaMary Vining to design and paint reusable canvas bags. The weather couldn't have been better and Miss Rita treated us to an absolutely fantastic day. The purpose of this trip was to kick of a BYOB: Bring Your Own Bag campaign to promote reusable shopping bags as an alternative to plastic or paper bags. Each student designed a bag with a positive environmental message to help spread the word and encourage others to BYOB.

ReplyDeleteI want to say a big thank you to Rita Mary and all the high school kids.One of my favorite things were when Kosma and his dad played the drums for us. Next time I go shopping with my mom I will tell her that I want to use my reuesable bag and not one of the stors bags.

It meant so much to my Drawing and Painting class that you invited them to spend the day with you and participate in your field trip. We had one of the very best days working together with you, my students use their bags everyday to carry their supplies to class. They also took many pictures that we would love to share with you.
